Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy

Effective date: September 5, 2026. Last updated: September 5, 2026.

1. General Information

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies may be used on the Wanderer Area website, why they are used, what information they may involve, and how visitors can manage them.

The website is administered by Wanderer Area.

For questions related to cookies, analytics, privacy, or the processing of technical information, contact: wandererarea@proton.me

This Cookie Policy supplements the Wanderer Area Privacy Policy.

2. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small pieces of data that a website or a third-party service used by the website may store in a visitor's browser or on their device.

Cookies and similar technologies may be used to:

  • Support the technical operation of the website;
  • Maintain website security;
  • Store certain technical settings;
  • Measure website traffic;
  • Identify traffic sources;
  • Understand how individual pages are used;
  • Detect technical issues;
  • Generate aggregated usage statistics.

In some cases, other browser storage technologies, including localStorage, may be used instead of or together with cookies.

For simplicity, this policy may use the term “cookies” to refer collectively to cookies and similar technologies unless otherwise stated.

3. Categories of Cookies Used

Wanderer Area may use:

  • Essential and technical cookies;
  • Analytics cookies and similar technologies.

Wanderer Area does not currently use cookies for personalized advertising, advertising retargeting, or the creation or sale of advertising audiences.

4. Essential and Technical Cookies

Essential and technical cookies may be used to support the normal and secure operation of the website.

They may be necessary for:

  • Proper operation of web forms;
  • Request protection and security controls;
  • Maintaining technical settings;
  • Website security;
  • Error prevention;
  • Operation of certain interface functions.

These cookies are used for technical purposes and are not intended to create an advertising profile of a visitor.

5. Analytics Technologies

Wanderer Area uses analytics technologies to understand how visitors interact with the website.

Analytics may be used to measure or understand:

  • Number of visits;
  • Repeat visits;
  • Pages viewed;
  • Length of visits;
  • Navigation between pages;
  • Traffic sources;
  • Device type;
  • Browser type;
  • Approximate geographic region;
  • Technical characteristics of a visit.

This information is used to improve website structure, content, technical performance, and the effectiveness of traffic sources.

Analytics information is not intended to be used by Wanderer Area to independently identify ordinary website visitors by name.

6. Google Analytics

Wanderer Area may use Google Analytics 4.

Google Analytics may use first-party cookies and other technical identifiers to distinguish users and sessions and to generate website usage statistics.

These cookies may include:

  • _ga;
  • _ga_<container-id>.

According to Google's current documentation, these cookies may have a default expiration period of up to two years, although browser restrictions and service configuration may shorten their effective lifetime.

Google Analytics may receive technical information associated with a visit in accordance with its technical configuration, service terms, and privacy practices.

I use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and performance, not as a tool to independently determine the real-world identity of ordinary website visitors.

7. Yandex Metrica

Wanderer Area may use Yandex Metrica.

Yandex Metrica may use cookies, localStorage, and other browser identifiers to measure website traffic, traffic sources, and interactions with website pages.

Depending on the service configuration, identifiers may include:

  • _ym_uid;
  • _ym_d;
  • _ym_isad;
  • _ym_metrika_enabled;
  • Other analytics or technical identifiers used by Yandex Metrica.

The specific identifiers, functionality, and retention periods may change as Yandex updates its service or technical configuration.

Yandex Metrica is used for website analytics and not as a repository for client communications or research materials.

8. Information I Do Not Intentionally Send to Analytics Providers

I do not use Google Analytics or Yandex Metrica as a method of transmitting the contents of client inquiries, correspondence, or project materials.

I do not intentionally send the following information to analytics providers:

  • Names;
  • Email addresses;
  • Phone numbers;
  • Contact form message content;
  • Client correspondence;
  • Client documents;
  • Passwords or login credentials;
  • Payment information;
  • Research, intelligence, investigation, or due diligence project materials.

Analytics services are used to measure website usage, not to store or process the substantive content of client communications.

9. IP Addresses and Technical Information

When a visitor uses the website, analytics providers and technical systems may receive an IP address and other connection-related information.

This information may be used for:

  • Website and infrastructure security;
  • Approximate geographic analysis;
  • Detection of technical errors;
  • Prevention of abuse;
  • Website traffic statistics.

I do not ordinarily use an IP address by itself to determine the real-world identity of a website visitor.

10. Managing Cookies

Visitors can manage cookies through their browser settings or other privacy controls available on their device.

Depending on the browser, users may be able to:

  • View stored cookies;
  • Delete individual cookies;
  • Delete all cookies;
  • Block cookies from specific websites;
  • Restrict third-party cookies;
  • Disable cookie storage entirely.

Restricting analytics cookies does not prevent access to the main content of Wanderer Area.

Disabling all cookies may affect certain technical website functions.

11. Deleting Cookies

Visitors can delete previously stored cookies through their browser settings.

After cookies are deleted, an analytics service may create a new technical identifier during a later visit unless the relevant technology is blocked by the visitor's browser, device, privacy extension, or other privacy control.

12. Cookie Retention

The retention period depends on the purpose of the particular cookie and the service that sets it.

Cookies may be:

  • Session cookies. These generally exist only for the current browsing session and may be removed when the browser is closed.
  • Persistent cookies. These may remain on the device for a longer period, ranging from hours or days to months or years.

For example, Google's current documentation lists a default expiration period of up to two years for certain Google Analytics cookies.

Yandex Metrica uses different retention periods depending on the identifier and service configuration.

Retention periods may change when the relevant provider changes its technology, settings, or service.

13. Third-Party Analytics Providers

Some cookies and similar technologies may be set or processed by third-party analytics providers.

These providers may include:

  • Google Analytics;
  • Yandex Metrica.

These companies independently control certain aspects of their services and may process technical information under their own privacy policies and service terms.

Visitors may review the privacy documentation and privacy controls provided by those services for additional information about their processing practices.

14. International and Cross-Border Processing

Wanderer Area is intended for an international audience, and internet infrastructure and third-party services may process technical information in more than one country.

Cross-border processing may occur because of:

  • Network routing;
  • Distributed infrastructure;
  • Cloud or analytics architecture;
  • The geographic location of third-party service providers;
  • The location from which a visitor accesses the website.

The country in which a visitor is located may therefore differ from the country in which a particular technical service processes certain information.

I do not use international data transfers as a mechanism to sell personal information, provide client information to data brokers, or create advertising audiences.

Where applicable law imposes specific requirements on an international transfer of personal information, those requirements apply to the extent legally required for the relevant processing activity.

15. No Sale of Personal Information

I do not sell or rent personal information obtained through cookies or analytics technologies.

I do not provide that information to data brokers for resale.

For purposes of U.S. state privacy laws that distinguish between the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and ordinary service-provider processing, Wanderer Area does not intentionally use website analytics to sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

16. No Targeted Advertising or Retargeting

As of the effective date of this policy, Wanderer Area does not use:

  • Meta Pixel;
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag;
  • Advertising retargeting;
  • Cross-context behavioral advertising;
  • Behavioral advertising audience segmentation;
  • Advertising cookies used to create personalized advertising audiences.

Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica are used for website analytics purposes.

If Wanderer Area later begins using advertising, retargeting, or targeted advertising technologies, this policy will be updated to reflect that change.

17. Third-Party Links and Embedded Content

The website may include links, buttons, or embedded elements from third-party platforms.

A standard hyperlink to an external website does not by itself mean that the external website receives information before the visitor follows that link.

If a page contains embedded content that is loaded directly from a third-party server, that provider may receive technical information associated with loading the embedded content.

Third-party services are governed by their own privacy practices.

18. Data Minimization

I apply a data-minimization principle to website analytics.

I do not seek to collect information merely because it is technically possible to do so.

Analytics information is intended to be used only for purposes related to:

  • Website traffic;
  • Traffic sources;
  • Page usage;
  • Technical performance;
  • Detection of technical problems;
  • Improving the structure and content of Wanderer Area.

19. Cookies and Personal Information

Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, IP addresses, browser identifiers, device identifiers, cookie identifiers, and similar technical data may be considered personal information, personal data, or information that can reasonably be linked to a particular person, browser, or device.

Where such information qualifies as protected information under applicable law, it is handled in accordance with the Wanderer Area Privacy Policy and applicable privacy requirements.

Nothing in this Cookie Policy is intended to waive, restrict, or eliminate privacy rights that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law.

20. United States Privacy Information

Residents of certain U.S. states may have privacy rights regarding personal information when the relevant state privacy law applies to Wanderer Area and to the particular processing activity.

Depending on applicable law, such rights may include:

Wanderer Area does not currently sell personal information or intentionally share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

  • The right to object to certain processing;
  • The right to data portability where applicable;
  • The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • The right to lodge a complaint with an appropriate supervisory authority.

The availability of a particular right depends on the circumstances, the legal basis for processing, and whether the relevant European rules apply to Wanderer Area and the processing in question.

Where applicable European law requires specific safeguards for transfers of personal data outside the European Economic Area, those requirements apply to the extent legally required.

Requests concerning personal data may be submitted to: wandererarea@proton.me

22. United Kingdom Privacy Information

If United Kingdom data-protection law applies to a particular processing activity, individuals in the United Kingdom may have rights relating to their personal information.

Depending on the circumstances, those rights may include:

  • The right to be informed;
  • The right of access;
  • The right to rectification;
  • The right to erasure in applicable circumstances;
  • The right to restrict processing;
  • The right to data portability where applicable;
  • The right to object to certain processing;
  • Rights relating to certain automated decision-making activities.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to conditions, limitations, or exemptions under applicable United Kingdom law.

Where United Kingdom law requires specific safeguards for an international transfer of personal information, those safeguards apply to the extent legally required.

Requests concerning personal information may be submitted to: wandererarea@proton.me

23. Canada Privacy Information

If Canadian privacy law applies to a particular processing activity, individuals in Canada may have rights relating to personal information held about them.

Depending on the applicable federal or provincial privacy regime, those rights may include the ability to:

  • Request information about the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information;
  • Request access to personal information;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Raise questions or complaints concerning privacy practices;
  • Exercise other rights provided by applicable Canadian privacy law.

I seek to collect and use only information reasonably related to the purposes described in this policy and the Wanderer Area Privacy Policy.

Requests concerning personal information may be submitted to: wandererarea@proton.me

24. Brazil Privacy Information

If Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados Pessoais — LGPD) applies to a particular processing activity, individuals may have additional rights concerning their personal data.

Depending on the circumstances, those rights may include:

  • Confirmation that personal data is being processed;
  • Access to personal data;
  • Correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data;
  • Anonymization, blocking, or deletion in circumstances provided by law;
  • Data portability where applicable;

  • Other rights provided by applicable Brazilian law.

The availability and scope of a particular right depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

Requests concerning personal data may be submitted to: wandererarea@proton.me

25. Japan Privacy Information

If Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) applies to a particular processing activity, personal information will be handled subject to the requirements that apply to that processing.

Depending on the circumstances, individuals may have rights concerning retained personal data, including rights relating to disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion where provided by applicable law.

Where Japanese law imposes requirements concerning the provision or transfer of personal data to a third party outside Japan, those requirements apply to the extent legally required.

Requests concerning personal information may be submitted to: wandererarea@proton.me

26. Singapore Privacy Information

If Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) applies to a particular processing activity, cookies and similar technologies that involve personal data are handled subject to the applicable requirements of that law.

Depending on the circumstances, individuals may have rights concerning access to or correction of personal data and may contact Wanderer Area regarding the collection, use, or disclosure of information relating to them.

Visitors can also use browser settings and other available privacy controls to restrict or delete cookies.

Requests concerning personal data may be submitted to: wandererarea@proton.me

27. Other Countries and Territories

Visitors may access Wanderer Area from countries and territories that provide privacy rights or impose requirements that are not specifically described in this policy.

If applicable law provides a visitor with additional rights concerning cookies, analytics technologies, personal information, or personal data, those rights apply to the extent required by that law.

Depending on the jurisdiction and circumstances, such rights may include:

  • Access to personal information;
  • Correction of inaccurate information;
  • Deletion or erasure;
  • Restriction of certain processing;
  • Objection to certain processing;
  • Withdrawal of consent where consent is the applicable legal basis;
  • Data portability;
  • Information about recipients or transfers;
  • The ability to submit a complaint to an appropriate privacy authority.

The existence of this section does not mean that every privacy law in every jurisdiction automatically applies to Wanderer Area. The applicability of a particular law depends on its territorial scope, the nature of the processing, the location of the individual, the nature of the relationship, and other relevant circumstances.

Where applicable law provides stronger non-waivable protections than those described in this policy, the applicable legal requirements take precedence to the extent required by law.

28. Exercising Regional Privacy Rights

A privacy request relating to cookies, analytics identifiers, or other personal information may be submitted to:

wandererarea@proton.me

The request should contain enough information to identify the relevant interaction or data without requiring the person to provide unnecessary additional personal information.

Where reasonably necessary to protect personal information from unauthorized disclosure, I may request limited additional information to verify the identity of the requester.

I will handle requests in accordance with the requirements and response periods that apply to the relevant request under applicable law.

29. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Cookie Policy when:

  • The website changes;
  • Analytics services change;
  • Third-party services are added or removed;
  • Technical infrastructure changes;
  • Data-processing practices change;
  • Business operations change;
  • Applicable legal requirements change.

The current version will be published on the Wanderer Area website.

Individual notice of every update is not guaranteed unless notice is required by applicable law.

The date of the latest update will be shown at the beginning of the policy.

30. Relationship With the Privacy Policy

This Cookie Policy specifically addresses cookies, analytics technologies, browser identifiers, and related technical information.

The Wanderer Area Privacy Policy contains broader information concerning:

  • Client inquiries;
  • Project information;
  • Personal data provided directly to Wanderer Area;
  • Confidentiality;
  • Retention;
